A working vehicle is a different brief

A van that spends its life loaded, on motorways or stop-start around town has a different duty cycle to a car. Weight, roof racks, trailers, long idling periods and high annual mileage all change what a sensible calibration looks like.

That is why van work has to be assessed individually. Two identical registrations plates apart can justify different decisions based on condition and use.

What van operators usually want

The requests we hear most from commercial customers:

• Usable torque lower in the range, so the van pulls away loaded without labouring.
• Loaded driving that feels less strained on long runs.
• Hill performance with weight on board or a trailer behind.
• Throttle response that makes junctions and roundabouts less of a wait.
• General drivability across a long working day.

Fuel and payload: the honest position

We do not promise fuel savings. Consumption on a working van depends on load, route, driving style, traffic, weather and vehicle condition.

A remap also does not change your van’s legal payload, gross vehicle weight or manufacturer towing limits. Those figures are set by the manufacturer and remain exactly as they are.

The Pre-Remap Health Check comes first

Before any calibration work begins, we carry out relevant diagnostic and vehicle-condition checks. The exact checks depend on the vehicle, engine, diagnostic information and any known concerns.

If the vehicle is not in the right condition for remapping, we do not continue with the calibration until the issue has been addressed. That is the part of our process customers tend to remember: vehicle condition first, remapping second.

High-mileage commercial vehicles

High mileage alone does not rule a van out. What matters is maintenance history, current condition, diagnostic information and how hard the vehicle works. Clutch and gearbox condition is a common talking point on well-used vans, and we would rather discuss it honestly than ignore it.

Minimal downtime

Because we come to you, the van does not need to sit at a workshop for a day. We can usually work around a yard, a depot or a driveway at a time that suits the working week.
