Booking Terms
The important points at a glance
- £99 Booking & Pre-Remap Health Check Fee reserves your appointment and covers the health check and suitability assessment. The remap balance is payable once the remap is complete.
- If your vehicle should not be remapped, we stop and explain what we have found. The £99 remains payable because the appointment and health check have been supplied.
- Once the issue is rectified, we honour the remaining quoted remap price for that original booking, subject to the vehicle then being suitable — with no second £99 fee.
- Existing wear or faults can be exposed by increased performance demands. Pre-existing condition is not our responsibility.
- Warranty and insurance: remapping is a modification. Please check with your warranty provider and tell your insurer before authorising work.
- Cancellation charges are fair and proportionate to the work supplied and the costs reasonably incurred.
1. The £99 Booking & Pre-Remap Health Check Fee
The £99 fee is not a simple deposit. It reserves your appointment and pays for the Pre-Remap Health Check, the diagnostic and suitability assessment work, and the technician time allocated to your appointment.
The remaining remapping balance is payable only once the remap has been completed, in line with the quotation given to you before the appointment.
2. If your vehicle does not pass the health check
If the Pre-Remap Health Check identifies a pre-existing fault, maintenance issue, warning light, mechanical concern, undeclared modification or vehicle condition meaning the vehicle should not be remapped, we will not proceed with the calibration.
The £99 Booking & Pre-Remap Health Check Fee remains payable, because the booked appointment and health-check service have been supplied. You will be told clearly what has been identified.
Once the relevant issue has been rectified, you may return for the originally quoted remap. Where we agree the vehicle is then suitable, the previously quoted remaining remap balance will be honoured without a second £99 booking and health-check fee for that same original booking.
A further diagnostic charge may apply where substantial additional investigation is needed beyond the original Pre-Remap Health Check, and only where this has been agreed with you beforehand.
3. Pre-existing vehicle condition
Remapping changes engine-management calibration and, depending on the vehicle, may increase requested torque, boost, fuelling, load or other operating demands.
You acknowledge that increased performance demands can expose existing wear, weakness or latent defects in components including, where relevant, the engine, turbocharger, clutch, gearbox, cooling system, fuel system, drivetrain and emissions-control components.
The Remap Co. is not responsible for faults, deterioration or component failure caused by pre-existing wear, poor maintenance, latent defects, previous modifications, undeclared faults, existing mechanical weakness, existing electronic faults, existing transmission or clutch wear, or components already operating outside normal condition.
4. Reasonable care and skill
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability where loss or damage is caused by The Remap Co.’s failure to exercise reasonable care and skill, by negligence or fraud, or where liability cannot lawfully be excluded under UK law. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
5. Your responsibilities as the customer
By booking, you confirm that:
- you own the vehicle, or you have the owner’s authority to approve the work;
- you have disclosed all known warning lights;
- you have disclosed known engine, gearbox, turbo, DPF, AdBlue, emissions, electrical or mechanical faults;
- you have disclosed relevant vehicle modifications;
- you have disclosed previous ECU tuning or remapping, where known to you;
- the vehicle has suitable fuel and battery condition for the appointment;
- you are legally permitted to modify the vehicle.
6. Performance figures
Any power, torque, performance or economy figures discussed or quoted are estimates unless specifically stated otherwise in writing.
Actual results vary according to vehicle specification, ECU and software version, fuel quality, mechanical condition, existing modifications, ambient conditions, mileage, transmission and the calibration available for the vehicle. No specific BHP, torque, MPG or performance outcome is guaranteed unless expressly agreed in writing.
7. Fuel economy
Economy-focused calibration may be available for suitable vehicles. No specific improvement in MPG or fuel consumption is guaranteed. Actual economy depends heavily on driving style, traffic, load, journey type, vehicle condition, tyres and other external factors.
8. Warranty
ECU software modification may affect manufacturer, dealer or third-party warranty cover. You are responsible for checking the implications of remapping with the relevant warranty provider before authorising work. The Remap Co. cannot guarantee that a manufacturer or warranty provider will continue to honour warranty claims after modification.
9. Insurance
Vehicle remapping is a modification. You are responsible for informing your insurer and confirming that your insurance remains valid after the modification.
10. Limitations of the Pre-Remap Health Check
The Pre-Remap Health Check is intended to identify relevant diagnostic or vehicle-condition concerns before remapping. It is not a complete mechanical inspection, a strip-down inspection, or a guarantee that every latent or internal fault will be detected. A vehicle may contain hidden mechanical weaknesses that are not apparent during diagnostic and external checks.
11. Cancellation, rescheduling and missed appointments
If you cancel. Where you cancel before any booked service has begun, any cancellation charge will be fair and proportionate to the work already performed and the losses reasonably incurred. Cancellation does not automatically mean the whole £99 is retained.
Rescheduling. Appointments can be rescheduled where reasonable notice is given, subject to availability. Repeated last-minute rescheduling may result in the loss of all or part of the booking fee, where that fairly reflects the time and costs incurred.
Missed appointments. Where technician time and travel have been allocated and you are unavailable, or the vehicle cannot be accessed, without reasonable notice, the booking fee may be retained to cover the booked time and costs.
12. If The Remap Co. cancels
If we have to cancel before providing the booked health check or service, you will be offered a rescheduled appointment or an appropriate refund of any payment relating to services not supplied.
13. Your 14-day cancellation right
Where a booking is made online, by WhatsApp or by telephone, it is a distance contract and you normally have 14 days from making the booking to cancel.
If you want your appointment to take place within that 14-day period, we ask for your express request for the service to begin. If you then cancel after the service has started, you may be required to pay for the proportion of services already supplied. Once the service has been fully performed at your express request, the 14-day right to cancel no longer applies to that service.
14. Accepting these terms when you book
Before any booking payment is taken, you will be asked to confirm, without anything pre-selected:
- that you have read and accept these Booking Terms;
- that you have disclosed all known vehicle faults, warning lights and relevant modifications;
- where applicable, that you expressly request us to begin providing the booked service during the 14-day cancellation period, understanding the implications set out above.
We record the date and time of acceptance, the booking reference and the version of these terms accepted, so it is clear what was agreed.
15. Road vehicle services
The Remap Co. focuses on professional calibration of suitable road vehicles while retaining the systems required for legal road use.
These terms are provided as clear information about how we work. They do not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
